Description

Description Varilight V-Pro Multi Point Remote (MPR or Eclique2) Series 4 Gang for either 1 way (or 2 way and multi-way when using Multi Point Slaves) 4×0-100 Watt Trailing Edge Dimmer, on a Double Plate, with Tactile Touch and Centralised Remote Control Sensor. The dimmer has special software with the ability to adjust the minimum brightness, and change the driving mode to Leading Edge for LEDs. ………………………………………….. VARILIGHT Dimmer Switches have an industry-wide reputation for exceptional performance, long life and innovation at attractive prices. ………………………………………….. The VARILIGHT Multi Point Remote (MPR) Series Dimmer, like all our products, is designed to meet the latest European Safety Legislation. ………………………………………….. It is important to select the correct dimmer switch for your application, so please read the following information carefully, if need be look at PDF manuals, and if you are still unsure, then contact us. ………………………………………….. Appearance and Function The MPR Dimmer resembles a normal rocker switch. To dim your lights, press and hold the lower part of the dimmer button and to brighten, press and hold the top of the button. A quick touch will turn the lights on or off. There are also various scene settings that can be changed to suit your environment. A double touch on the lower part of the dimmer button for example, will set the dimmer into scene setting 4 (mid-low brightness), or a double touch to the top half of the button will set the dimmer to full brightness. Please see the product instructions for further info. MPR Dimmers are used together with Multi Point (MP) Slaves to create dimming versatility for 2 or more way dimming of circuit. ………………………………………….. The VARILIGHT Multi Point Touch and Remote Dimmer Series has been designed to dim a range of different fittings: – Most good quality dimmable LEDs – Mains voltage incandescent GLS or candle-shaped bulbs – Good quality dimmable electronic Low Voltage Transformers, including those requiring trailing edge control – GU10 or similar good quality mains and Eco halogen bulbs – Varilight’s Dimmer Dimmable Digiflux CFL’s ………………………………………….. Summary of Multi Point Remote Compatibility (Per Dimmer Module) All Dimmers – 10 dimmable LED lamps (maximum of 100W) – 100 Watts max of Incandescent lamps – 100 Watts max of mains, Eco and low voltage halogen lamps – 8 dimmable Digiflux CFLs ………………………………………….. Applications This Multi Point Master dimmer alone, or alongside it’s Multi Point Slave, can be used in many applications, from Home to commercial premises such as Offices, Bars, Nightclubs, Retirement and Nursing Homes The MPR Series dimmers are also available as Power Grid Modules, this gives versatility to the range so you are able to mix and match Master and Slave dimmers, along with a large variety of other Power Grid switches together on the same plate, to create your own bespoke products. ………………………………………….. Software The Multi Point Remote software, is contained in the Master dimmer. In a 2 or multi way circuit, the Slave sends a signal via a link wire to the Master allowing dimming functionality. Some LEDs are set to a default minimum brightness which may be too bright, the dimmer can be easily adjusted so the minimum brightness of the LED is to your own desired setting. V-Pro Multi Point Series dimmer switches are trailing edge by default, Mode 1, this versatile mode is suitable for most dimmable LEDs and is also gentler on the load. Some types of dimmable LED perform best with leading-edge control, Mode 2. Mode 3 is suitable for some external LED drivers. The driving modes can be easily changed by following the instructions under Programming as shown in the dimmer instructions manual. The V-Pro Multi Point Dimmer Series features scene setting and zonal lighting which can be operated by a Universal Remote handset, such as Varilight’s YRE8. ………………………………………….. The V-Pro Multi Point Series were primarily designed for Dimmable LEDs, the dimmers, with a minimum load of 0 Watts and maximum load of 100 watts, can operate at least 1-10 of the majority of quality dimmable LEDs on the market, it works especially well with the manufacturers, Megaman , and Mark Lighting . They are also suitable for halogen and incandescent lighting, most dimmable electronic transformers, with no minimum load, especially Varilight’s transformers and are suitable for dimmable low energy lighting. ………………………………………….. 2 Way and Multi Way Dimming It is possible to use multiple dimmer switches in a single circuit when using the Multi Point range, this is one massive advantage over conventional dimmers. In this instance, the main switch where the live feed is present must be a master dimmer. The second switch, or 3rd switch (intermediate) must then be a slave dimmer. It is not possible to use a slave dimmer switch as a standalone dimmer in a 1 way circuit. Similarly, normal on/off rocker or impulse switches cannot be used in conjunction with MPR dimmers either. ………………………………………….. For 1 way circuits: 1 MPR Master Dimmer For 2 way circuits: 1 MPR Master Dimmer and 1 MP Slave dimmer. For 3 way circuits: 1 MPR Master Dimmer and 2 MP Slave dimmers. For multi-way circuits: 1 MPR Master Dimmer and as many MP Slave dimmers as is needed. ………………………………………….. Limitations Varilight Dimmers can NOT be used for wire-wound or torroidal Transformers. For Fan applications choose V-Dim Solid State Series , please check with manufacturer of appliance to be dimmed. ………………………………………….. Some ‘dimmable’ LED lamps are not designed for electronic dimmer switches and may remain illuminated even when a dimmer switch is turned off. This can be corrected using one Varilight LEDFix (GLOWfix) load regulator per circuit, also known as YAGF-P. Please choose the V-Pro Series to work with more than 10 LEDs (look for High Power V-Pro models) or V-Com Series which can also dim more than 10 LEDs in a circuit, the V-Com is especially good and for dimming lighting panels such as LED or CFL. ………………………………………….. These Dimmers are not suitable for Triac compatibility LED dimming, for this type of dimming, choose the V-Com Series. ………………………………………….. Cleaning This product can be easily cleaned with a soft dry micro-fibre cloth. Never apply masking tape or other similar tape to the product. Avoid the use of any cleaning chemicals and always use a Gasket on freshly plastered, painted or damp walls as the plates may tarnish. (Plaster can take up to 6 months to dry out). A Gasket can be made from the packaging the product comes in, or a plastic bag can be cut to stop the plate touching the plaster. Unfortunately, if these Instructions are not followed, and the plate is damaged, it will void the product warranty. …………………………………………..
