Description Varilight V-Pro Series 2 Gang, for either 1 or 2 Way circuits, 2×0-120 Watt Push On/Off Rotary LED Trailing Edge Dimmer, on a Single Plate, for 1-10 most good quality LEDs. You can load up to 10 LEDs per circuit (Dimming Module) as long as the lamps do not exceed 120 watts in total. The dimmer has special software with the ability to adjust the minimum brightness, and change the driving mode to Leading Edge. ………………………………………….. It is important to select the correct dimmer switch for your application, so please read the following information carefully, if need be look at PDF manuals, and if you are still unsure, then contact us. ………………………………………….. Appearance, Function and Applications This dimmer is push on/off and rotary controlled, meaning to turn the dimmer on or off simply push the dimmer knob in and it will click back out; then to turn the brightness up or down, rotate the knob clockwise and anti-clockwise. ………………………………………….. V-Pro Push on/off dimmers are suitable for either 1 way or 2 way circuits. ………………………………………….. The V-Pro Series are programmable intelligent dimmers with a choice of dimming modes for wider compatibility. All V-Pro dimmers offer superior dimming technology to deliver the best possible dimming performance for numerous applications. ………………………………………….. V-Pro Series dimmer switches are trailing edge by default, Mode 1, this versatile mode is suitable for most dimmable LEDs and is also gentler on the load. Some types of dimmable LED perform best with Leading-Edge control, Mode 2 on the dimmer. Mode 3 is suitable for some external LED drivers. The driving modes can be easily changed by following the instructions under ‘Programming’ as shown in the dimmer instructions manual. ………………………………………….. Some LEDs are set to a default minimum brightness which may be too bright, the dimmer can be easily adjusted so the minimum brightness of the LED is set to your own desired setting. ………………………………………….. The V-Pro Series were primarily designed for Dimmable LEDs, the dimmers, with a minimum load of 0 Watts and maximum load of 120 watts, can operate at least 1-10 of the majority of quality dimmable LEDs on the market, it works especially well with the manufacturers, Megaman , and Mark Lighting . They are also suitable for halogen and incandescent lighting, most dimmable electronic transformers, with no minimum load, especially Varilight’s transformers and are suitable for dimmable low energy lighting. ………………………………………….. When using Electronic Low Voltage Transformers we recommend that a maximum of 5 good quality dimmable Electronic Transformers are used (10 if Varilight Transformers ) with this dimmer range. Please note: add the watts of the bulbs/lamps if using Varilight Transformers, to determine which wattage of dimmer to select, but if using another manufacturer of Transformer, add up the VA of the Transformers so it does not exceed the maximum of the dimmer. Please note that noise levels can depend on the quality of the Transformer being used. ………………………………………….. The V-Pro Series are equipped with some intelligent features: Soft-Start Technology, allows a longer life span of the bulbs or lamps used by increasing the brightness level softly, which also creates a welcoming effect; Self Re-setting Overload Protection, so is able to handle overload situations, for example, if the wattage of the bulbs/lamps are accidentally too high on a circuit. This is achieved by either, stepping down the dimmer’s output to the lamps (if the watts are marginally overloaded), or the dimmer cuts out before there is any damage, (if the watts are grossly overloaded), until the load is reduced; Intelligent Thermal Protection which again stops damage to the dimmer, if it becomes too hot. ………………………………………….. 2 Way Dimming The V-Pro Series Push on/off Dimmers can be used in 2 way circuits (where one lighting circuit is controlled from two locations). In order to achieve 2 way switching, they must be paired with a standard ‘2 way switch’ in the other location 3 way switching can be achieved by adding an ‘intermediate switch’ in to the circuit. When using V-Pro Series Push on/off Dimmers in a 2 or 3 way circuit the lights can only be dimmed from the location that the dimmer is situated in, if total dimming is preferred from many switched locations, in a 2, 3 or more way circuit then choose the Varilight Touch and Remote range of dimmers, in conjunction with Slave Dimmers, like the Multi-Point Remote , or Multi-Point Touch. ………………………………………….. Although the Antimicrobial/Antiviral Copper range was designed to manage germs on contact, this range can also be used in properties requiring a distressed finish, as they develop a natural patina. This patina can be reset by polishing with Brasso or similar, which removes all patina effects and allows you to add a different distressed finish to your own taste. Alternatively, if you require a polished copper finish, then regular cleaning is a must. ………………………………………….. The VARILIGHT Antimicrobial/Antiviral Copper range is made from un-lacquered and un-coated solid copper and comes complete with solid copper switch rockers to ensure maximum Antimicrobial/Antiviral efficacy and carries the Cu29 logo. Clip on faceplates remove the need for visible fixing screws, providing a flat surface to facilitate cleaning. Normal tarnishing of Antimicrobial/Antiviral copper surfaces will not impair the antibacterial effectiveness of the product. ………………………………………….. Limitations The best dimmer series for dimming Electronic Low Voltage Transformers, including dimming more than 5 Transformers, is the V-Plus Series , which has many features including Overload Protection; Soft Start which is gentler on the load; and Dimmer Buzz Elimination, that can be created from the transformers. V-Plus can NOT dim LEDs. ………………………………………….. Varilight Dimmers can NOT be used for wire-wound or torroidal Transformers. For Fan applications choose V-Dim Solid State Series , please check with manufacturer of appliance to be dimmed. ………………………………………….. For dimming lighting panels such as LED or CFL, choose the V-Com Series. ………………………………………….. These Dimmers are not suitable for Triac compatibility LED dimming, for this type of dimming, choose the V-Com Series. ………………………………………….. Cleaning This product can be easily cleaned with a soft dry micro-fibre cloth. Never apply masking tape or other similar tape to the product. Avoid the use of any cleaning chemicals and always use a Gasket on freshly plastered, painted or damp walls as the plates may tarnish. (Plaster can take up to 6 months to dry out). A Gasket can be made from the packaging the product comes in, or a plastic bag can be cut to stop the plate touching the plaster. Unfortunately, if these Instructions are not followed, and the plate is damaged, it will void the product warranty. Please Note: These products are Anti-Microbial Unlaquered Copper, therefore they tarnish as expected. If you prefer a lacquered version, look at Urban Polished copper ………………………………………….. Cleaning and sanitisation This product will develop a natural patina. Routine cleaning and sanitisation procedures must continue to be implemented to reduce the potential for infection and to keep the Antimicrobial/Antiviral Copper Alloy surface free of dirt and grime that could prevent contact with the surface and inhibit Antimicrobial/Antiviral performance. The appropriate cleaning agent depends on the type of soiling and the measure of sanitisation required. To remain effective the surface must not be coated in any way. Do not wax, paint, lacquer, varnish, or otherwise coat this product. Normal tarnishing or wear of Antimicrobial/Antiviral Copper Alloy surfaces will not impair the antibacterial effectiveness of the product. An effective cleaning agent for use on Antimicrobial/Antiviral copper product is citric acid. Apply a small amount to a polishing cloth and lightly wipe the affected area. ………………………………………….. This cleaning method with Citric Acid will remove bacteria build up. If you require the natural patina/tarnishing/distressed effect to be removed, this can be achieved by polishing with Brasso or similar, which will bring the product back to an original natural polished copper metal. Be sure not to use a cloth that is abrasive, unless you require a brushed effect. …………………………………………..
