The dimmer has special software with the ability to adjust the minimum brightness, and change driving mode to Leading Edge for LEDs. ………………………………………….. The VARILIGHT V-Pro IR Series Dimmer, like all our products, is designed to meet the latest European Safety Legislation. ………………………………………….. It is important to select the correct dimmer switch for your application, so please read the following information carefully, if need be look at PDF manuals, and if you are still unsure, then contact us. ………………………………………….. Appearance, Function and Applications This dimmer is touch sensitive and remote controlled, meaning to operate it without a remote control, with a quick touch of the circular disc turns the dimmer on or off, whilst a longer touch makes the brightness increase or decrease. For touch control, the dimmer works on skin resistance. When using the remote control, aim at the infra red dimmer, with similar technique to touching. Once a button is assigned on the remote to work the dimmer (as shown in the Remote Handset instruction manual) a quick touch of a button and the dimmer turns on and off; Whilst a long touch increases and decreases the brightness. ………………………………………….. This dimmer is a Master dimmer for 1 Way circuits only. All our dimmers have the newest software that’s available, whenever Varilight creates an update, they update the software in our dimmer stocks too. ………………………………………….. The VARILIGHT V-Pro IR Touch and Remote Dimmer Series has been designed to dim a range of different fittings: – Most good quality dimmable LEDs – Mains voltage incandescent GLS or candle-shaped bulbs – Good quality dimmable electronic Low Voltage Transformers, including those requiring trailing edge control – GU10 or similar good quality mains and Eco halogen bulbs ………………………………………….. Summary of V-Pro IR Compatibility (Per Dimmer Module) All Dimmers – 10 dimmable LED lamps (maximum of 100W) – 100 Watts max of Incandescent lamps – 100 Watts max of mains, Eco and low voltage halogen lamps – 100 Watts max of Low Voltage LED [use default mode 1 only] – Upto 8 dimmable CFLS [use mode 3 only] ………………………………………….. V-Pro IR Series dimmer switches are trailing edge by default, Mode 1, this versatile mode is suitable for most dimmable LEDs and is also gentler on the load. Some types of dimmable LED perform best with leading-edge control, Mode 2. Mode 3 is suitable for some external LED drivers. The driving modes can be easily changed by following the instructions under Programming as shown in the dimmer instructions manual. ………………………………………….. Some LEDs are set to a default minimum brightness which may be too bright, the dimmer can be easily adjusted so the minimum brightness of the LED is to your own desired setting. ………………………………………….. The V-Pro IR Dimmer Series features scene setting and zonal lighting which can be operated by a Universal Remote handset, such as Varilight’s YRE8. ………………………………………….. The V-Pro IR Series were primarily designed for Dimmable LEDs, the dimmers, with a minimum load of 0 Watts and maximum load of 100 watts, can operate at least 1-10 of the majority of quality dimmable LEDs on the market, it works especially well with the manufacturers, Megaman , and Mark Lighting . They are also suitable for halogen and incandescent lighting, most dimmable electronic transformers, with no minimum load, especially Varilight’s transformers and are suitable for dimmable low energy lighting. ………………………………………….. Limitations Varilight Dimmers can NOT be used for wire-wound or torroidal Transformers. For Fan applications choose V-Dim Solid State Series , please check with manufacturer of appliance to be dimmed. ………………………………………….. Some ‘dimmable’ LED lamps are not designed for electronic dimmer switches and may remain illuminated even when a dimmer switch is turned off. This can be corrected using one Varilight LEDFix (GLOWfix) load regulator per circuit, also known as YAGF-P. ………………………………………….. Please choose the V-Pro Series to work with more than 10 LEDs (look for High Power V-Pro models) or V-Com Series which can also dim more than 10 LEDs in a circuit, and is especially good and for dimming lighting panels such as LED or CFL. We have some other LED dimmers that may be of interest, Multi-Point Remote , or Multi-Point Touch. ………………………………………….. These Dimmers are not suitable for Triac compatibility LED dimming, for this type of dimming, choose the V-Com Series. ………………………………………….. Cleaning This product can be easily cleaned with a soft dry micro-fibre cloth. Never apply masking tape or other similar tape to the product. Avoid the use of any cleaning chemicals and always use a Gasket on freshly plastered, painted or damp walls as the plates may tarnish. (Plaster can take up to 6 months to dry out). A Gasket can be made from the packaging the product comes in, or a plastic bag can be cut to stop the plate touching the plaster. Unfortunately, if these Instructions are not followed, and the plate is damaged, it will void the product warranty. …………………………………………..
